Žandari in your pocket.

The game played by generations in the Balkans.

  • One card can sweep the entire table in a single move. It's called a Žandar — and it's why the game is named after it. Hold yours until the moment is right.
  • A round takes minutes. A game fits in a coffee break — the same way it always has, on kitchen tables across the Balkans.
  • The Little One (♣2) and The Big One (♦10). Whoever captures them gets a guaranteed point each. You'll spend the whole game watching their position on the table.
  • No timers, no energy bars, no tricks. Just the cards — and a genuinely good time.

The Game

Two players.
52 cards.
So — who wins?

Žandari is one of the most beloved traditional Balkan card games. Played for generations: in families, among friends.

01

Wait.

Placing a card now can set up a sweep next turn. Just don't hand your opponent something valuable.

02

Track.

Watch the clubs. Keep your eye on The Little One and The Big One — two guaranteed points in every deck that can decide any round.

03

Time it.

Hold your Jacks until the table is full. One move — every card swept. Time it right.

04

Win.

First to 11 points wins — points count immediately, so the match can end mid-round. Every card placed either builds your lead or hands one away.

Deda & Me

My Deda (grandfather) and I played this for hours — just the two of us and the cards.
More than a card game — Žandari is a tradition. A reason to gather around a table and play for hours.
Now I'm bringing it to everyone's pocket. Have fun with it.

The table is always set. Pull up a chair.
